A very high density, high quality development of 9 houses and 10 flats, all the flats provide key worker housing for doctors and nurses and other staff at King's College Hospital which is located nearby.
There was an arduous negotiation process with the London Borough of Lambeth which first required to be convinced that the land, hemmed in by housing, should not remain in ‘employment use’ any longer.
We demonstrated on behalf of the developers, Aspinwood Ltd that the then occupiers, Redwing Coaches, had an unrestricted lawful use which enabled them to use the site for the comings and goings and parking and servicing of coaches on an unrestricted basis.
We also obtained planning permission for Redwing Coaches to move to a new purpose-built depot at Mahatma Gandhi Industrial Estate in Milkwood Road, Herne Hill, London SE24.
